The main aim of the Centre is the promotion and development of the culture of peace and non-violence, human rights and democratic civic involvement. The Centre aims to achieve this goal through:

  1. Empowering and educating people for participative, cooperative, democratic life together that represents a small step (mali korak) toward a social transformation and politics of equal opportunities

  2. Supporting the processes of non-violent conflict resolution, cooperative relations and tolerance, building mutual trust and support, as well as respecting differences in professional and everyday life, especially in working with children

  3. Encouraging the spirit of tolerance, intercultural and interreligious cooperation between people as well as the respect for human rights

  4. Supporting and encouraging civil initiatives that promote peaceful conflict resolution, non-violent action and education for development

  5. Education for personal development in the spirit of connecting individual, social and planetary ecology


Methods and types of activities

The Centre realizes its program through different types of group activities, and mostly as:

  1. Workshops, courses, seminars, counseling sessions, round tables

  2. Creation of teams for education, mediation and facilitation

  3. Forming of groups or networks of trainers in peace education (or human rights education).

Also, in the written form, through:

  1. Publishing appropriate literature (leaflets, bulletins, textbooks)

  2. Collecting, exchange and translation of books in the area of the culture of peace and non-violence.

Activities 

The main activities of the Centre through which it accomplishes it goals consist of education through:

  1. Education for human rights and democratic citizenship, especially in the area of:

  2. Learning the methods and techniques of non-violent conflict resolution (in school, family, neighborhood, work)

  3. Training for trainers in peaceful conflict resolution and non-violent communication through courses, seminars or workshops

  4. Encouraging and creating programs and projects for creative conflict resolution for specific purposes (of children and adults, members of non-governmental organizations and other groups)

  5. Process work on conflicts with different groups of users

  6. Mediation and facilitation (skill of leading group interaction and group work)

  7. Practicing communication skills

  8. Leading/facilitating/practicing non-violent communication

  9. Practicing cooperation and team work (skills of personal and group decision-making, skills of creative problem solving, principles of cooperation)

  10. Publishing (and translating) books, especially textbooks, bulletins and expert literature in the area of the culture of peace and non-violence.
